CDHO Governing Council

The College’s governing Council includes dental hygienists from around the province who have been elected by their peers, and public members that the provincial government has appointed. The Council function, based upon the legislation, is to make decisions in the public interest. The Council also makes policy decisions to regulate the profession. Seven statutory committees support the regulatory process and are made up of dental hygienists, non-Council dental hygienists, dental hygiene educators and public members.

Council Meeting Dates

Council meets at least three times a year to discuss regulatory policy and debate issues that influence the quality of dental hygiene care in Ontario. The meetings of the Council shall be open to the public unless the Council deems that the public be excluded from the meeting or any part of a meeting in accordance with Schedule 2 of the Regulated Health Professions Act, 1991
